Pikachu 3DS XL Comes Out On March 24

Nintendo has announced they will release a yellow Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL on March 24th. I think they would have seen more sales if they released a Zubat gray model, because what kid’s favorite Pokémon isn’t Zubat?

The Pikachu 3DS XL will go for $199.99 and be sold at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, and GameStop. If you plan on picking one up you should probably preorder it because there will only be a limited amount for sale. It comes with a 4GB SD card but more importantly it has a picture of Pikachu on it. I don’t know if I mentioned that.

The handheld is being released the same day as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity which I’m sure is just a coincidence. If you register a Nintendo 3DS XL and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon between March 23 and April 30 you’ll get a code that’ll allow you to download: Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Dart Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creatures, Alive.
