Last night Sony aired a prerecorded video announcing some new plans for the Vita. The details included a price drop to 19,980 Yen (around $215 US Dollars) for the Wi-Fi models as well as a new Ice Silver color. The price drop and new system will come out on February 28. The handheld is still more expensive than the 3DS.
The video also showed progress for the Vita version of Final Fantasy X HD. Even though the news was announced earlier this is the first time we actually had a look at Tidus and Yuna on the handheld.
Japanese players will also get a free week of PlayStation Plus giving them access to a bunch of free games.
No word on whether there will be a price drop in the west yet.
